Tonight definitely hurt. Losing 12-8 to a local rival is one thing. But to do it in a game you were in control of in the first half is a tough pill to swallow. If we would have played a full 60 minutes I'm confident the final would have been different. Some will say the fact that we stayed in a game against a perennial powerhouse such as St. Lawrence is an achievement in itself. I for one am not one of those people. Personally, I feel the sky is the limit with this team, playing tight games against nationally ranked teams shouldn't be an achievement, it should be expected. I know the guys will be chomping at the bit to get back on the field to redeem ourselves, so practice these next two days will definitely be crisp.
On a lighter note, thank you to all the parents that made the trip up tonight to catch the game. Also a very big thank you to the Carpenters for a fantastic tailgate all of which was homemade (minus the pizza) and Logan's sister for convincing me to try the fruit dip/pudding which was fantastic.
SUNYAC opener on Saturday against Brockport...more on that later in the week, but start making plans to get up here and come support!
I don't think anyone can quite convey pain like Johnny Cash...
